Beautiful views and large gardens to explore. Electric buggies available if the hill walk is too much for you. Plenty of picnic spots and limited food available on site. Lots of birds that will land on you in the bird world. Be prepared to take off jewellery, hats and other accessories like sunnies.
Good fun. Hilly site with nice gardens and great views. (Rent a buggy if you are mobility challenged.) Dont miss the aviaries. There are over 900 parrots flying around, mostly rescue birds. They are very friendly and will land on you. Great photo opportunity.
Such a beautiful place with so many beautiful birds. I could not believe that 90% of the birds are surrendered They are so fortunate to have such a wonderful home, but highlights how many who purchase large birds without fully realising the responsibility that comes with owning them. So many beautiful birds I would love to have brought home with me, including one particular little African Grey girl - so in love Amy was a fantastic guide, a real natural. Thank you for turning my day from an unhappy start to filling my love tanks by the time I left. I will be back!
Loved our visit to the Maleny Botanic Gardens & Birdworld! It was a fun, relaxing & interesting day out with the kids and our 2 small dogs. We felt very welcomed and really enjoyed the way the staff encouraged the kids to engage with the birds etc. The gardens are BEAUTIFUL - the view is SPECTACULAR! Next time would take a picnic & stay a little longer for lunch.Don't forget your hat, sunscreen & water of you're visiting in summer time - it can get quite hot, but the breeze is magical
Better than the Zoo! The bird sanctuary was incredible, So many friends who had been to the Mary C-C had no idea the garden down the road existed! Definitely an experience like no other. If you love birds then you will love this place. With many of the birds being rescued the place is filled with love and passion! The staff are friendly and have a heart for what they do. The owner (who I believe is the owner) placed the birds on us and shared stories about each one. The garden was beautiful. I was looking out for fish but couldnt see any. Looks like a love spot for some Catfish. Would definitely comeback next time Im in Brisbane. Worth the drive. On par with Australia Zoo (if you love birds)
