It's hard to imagine a better beginning to education than The River School. I'm grateful my children experienced such a nurturing and character forming K-6 schooling.
My whole life has been richer because of this school. My children spent their primary school years here. It was the making of them as incredible adults. They have thrived academically and in their sense of self. As well, as an employee of the school I couldn't have wished for a more nurturing and supportive workplace.
We moved to Maleny a few years ago and the children began there schooling there. It is a nurturing, loving environment where children are listened to. My oldest then went to the local highschool and is doing very well. Its a transition the school prepares them for and they fit in really well.
This is how all primary schools should be. My four children have attended here, and I love the focus on letting kids be kids, creativity and wider philosophy, whilst still following the Australian curriculum. Also set in a beautiful rainforest setting.
The River School is such a nurturing and exemplary school. My neice and nephew attended here during their primary years. My neice went on to be school captain at the Maleny highschool and my nephew became sports captain, sound crew captain and the winner of citizenship awards. They both credit their years at the River School with their ability to handle highschool so well and to foster deep relationships with many students across their grade. They are now both studying at university. My son has now attended the River School since prep and is excelling in every way. Such a beautiful school and wonderful staff. I couldn't be happier.
